Web Design - Pricing
All Web Design work is billed by the hour.
Our current rate is $45/hour. An initial 2 hour consultation is free.
A basic 5 page website will typically require 10-11 hours of work and will cost between $450-$500. A chart showing the estimated times required for specific tasks in the Web Design process is shown below:

Design. Create several (3) design mockups based on provided text/images, customer descriptions, and examples from other sites. Create the logo/banner, color-scheme, background, and “Look & feel” of the website.

Content. Gather and organize source documents (jpeg's, gif's, text files, mp3's, etc.). Resize, crop, format, and optimize images. Create thumbnail images. Re-title and assign titles to files. Upload images to images folder. Copy Word document text into text editor to strip out Microsoft formatting, paste raw text into HTML files.

Structure. Organize page structural elements: banner, sidebars, columns, tables, and borders. Create page templates. Organize and link php include elements (footer/copyright, logo/navigation) to all pages.
Scripts. Install and test scripts, such as a form handler for the contact page.

Edit & Tweak. Replace, correct, re-position text. Change sizes, colors, position of graphics.

Optimize (basic SEO). Develop, edit and add metatags (Keywords & Description), include alt tags for all images. Include sitemap text file. Submit URL to Google search engine.

Customer Communication. Open, read, and reply to an average of 15 emails. Notify client of updates and completed work.

Launch & Test. Test functionality on all major Browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari…) and platforms (PC & Mac). Upload entire site to main directory of client's domain. Resolve any issues related to Domain registration, Hosting, nameservers, email accounts, ftp access, etc.
