Outlook Express 6. Adding an email account. Email Tutorials

Requirements
You will need the following information.

  • Windows version of Outlook Express 6
  • Your login ID (user name) ex: (yourname@yourdomain.com)
  • Your password

1. First, launch Outlook Express. From the "Tools" menu select Click on "Accounts".




2. Be sure the "Mail" tab is forward and then click on "Add" and then on "Mail".




3. Type your name in the text field.




4. Type in your email address in the text field.




5. Type mail.yourdomainname.com in the first text field.

Type the outgoing (SMTP) server provied by your Internet Service Provider (i.e., mail.sbcglobal.net for SBC customers). If you do not know you're ISP's outgoing mail server, contact their customer service to request this information.

Be sure to replace the words "yourdomainname.com" with your actual domain name.

For instance, if your email address is janedoe@yahoo.com, "yahoo.com" is your domain name.




6. Type in your username in the first field. This is your full email address.
For Example:  johndoe@mydomain.com




7. Click the Finish button.




8. Click the Close button. You are now ready to send mail!
